Request Instructor Copy Textbook
ASU Bookstore
Instructors and/or TAs can reach out to the ASU Bookstore for information on how to access their textbook. Christopher Hanks is our contact at the bookstore. Christopher will often have direct contacts with publishers to help expedite desk copy requests. These contacts will vary by semester and by discipline; therefore, it’s best to reach out to Christopher to determine the contact name.
If you prefer to approach the publisher directly, you may use one of the following processes.
Cengage
To request a copy of review materials email Cengage.
Macmillan
With the approval of your local sales representative and confirmation of your instructor status, examination copies are available for you to review and consider for use in your course. Examination copies are offered free of charge. Because these books and materials are meant for instructors only, your request will be passed on to a sales representative who will confirm instructor status and bookstore order.

McGraw-Hill
To request a print copy or the eBook version of a title you are interested in using for your course follow the step by step instructions outlined below.
To Request a Desk Copy
- Search for the product you would like to sample by entering the ISBN into the provided search box on the McGraw-Hill website.
- When you get to the product page for the book you are interested in, look for the red “Get my instructor copy” button below the main title information. You can choose eBook (if available or print from the drop down menu.
- You will be asked to sign in if you have a McGraw Hill instructor account or create a new one.
- If you create a new account, it will need to be validated using your university email. Once you receive the validation email, you can follow the step by step instructions to return to the website to complete the process.
- If you already have an account, sign in with your McGraw Hill credentials. After signing in, you will see the product you requested to sample in your cart. Proceed through the “check out” flow, filling out course information and delivery address in requesting a print copy, to complete your sample request.

Norton
A complimentary copy of a textbook can be made available for instructors who are evaluating a textbook for potential use or assigning a textbook for a course.
To Request an Exam Copy
Begin by finding the textbook on the Norton educator website.
- Click on “For Instructors”.
- Select “Contact my rep” and fill out the form (School Name is “Arizona State University - Tempe Campus, Tempe). Click “Search” to find the current Norton representative.
- As of Spring 2025, the local Norton rep is Anne Caywood. You may wish to contact them directly or use the form to send an email.
Pearson
Pearson offers a digital copy of a text to qualified instructors who would like to consider a text for course adoption or has already adopted a text as a required course text.
To Request a Desk Copy
- Click the Pearson link to start the request.
- Access the catalog and find the title you are interested in.
- Once on the product page, make sure you have selected “I’m an educator”.
- Scroll down and select the Request Full Copy tab.
- If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to sign in or create an account.
- You will be prompted to fill in details about your course.
- Select the Digital option for immediate access through Pearson eTextbook, or request a physical copy.
- When you click submit you will receive an email with instructions to access your digital desk copy.
Springer
Springer Publishing offers a complimentary digital copy of a text to qualified instructors who would like to consider a text for course adoption or has already adopted a text as a required course text. Each request requires authorization by the textbook representative.
To Request a Desk Copy
- Find or search for a text on the Springer Publishing Website.
- On the book’s web page, look for the “Request Desk Copy” button.
- If you do not find the button, the book is not included in this service.
- Complete the form for review, no account or log-in required.
- All requests are reviewed and fulfilled as appropriate.You will be contacted regarding the outcome of the request. Please allow 3-4 business days for a response as each request requires authorization by the local sales representative.
- Once a request is approved, you will receive an email with digital access to the title on our online platform, Springer Publishing CONNECT.

Wiley
Wiley offers qualifying instructors an evaluation copy of their products for review purposes or for use in their courses during the academic year.
To Request an Evaluation Copy
- Search for the product you are interested in on the Wiley webpage.
- If the evaluation copy is available for the product you requested, a link to “Request an evaluation copy” will appear.
- Click on the link, complete the form and submit your request.
- If an evaluation copy link does not appear on the product page of the product you are interested in, you may send a request via postal mail.
